What types of finishes are available for Stereolithography?

Basic Finish

Basic cleaning without sanding or sandblasting:

  • Supports removed, but support points still visible
  • Cured
  • Building layers visible

Support remarks removed

  • Support removed and sanded
  • Cured
  • Sandblasted
  • Building layers less visible

Normal A Side

  • A-side completely sanded and sandblasted
  • Supports removed
  • Cured
  • A-side sanded
  • A-side sandblasted
  • Building layers not visible

Normal 2-side

  • Both sides completely sanded and sandblasted
  • Supports removed
  • Cured
  • All surfaces sanded
  • All surfaces sandblasted
  • Building layers not visible

Technical Transparent Paint

Transparent Tusk (TuskXC2700T) parts, building layers visible. Part can contain small entrapments.

  • Basic Finish
  • Support points sanded
  • Transparent paint (all surfaces)


Cosmetic Transparent Paint

Transparent Tusk (TuskXC2700T) parts, building layers not visible (cutting might be needed).

  • Basic Finish
  • All surfaces sanded
  • Transparent paint (all surfaces)


Primer + Paint

  • Basic finish
  • A-side or both sides are sanded
  • Primer paint applied to the A-side or both sides (light gray)
  • Sanded with P400
  • Paint applied on the A-side or both sides

    • Dead Matte: 10% gloss


    • Matte: 30% gloss


    • Satin: 50% gloss


    • High-Gloss: 90% gloss


    • Soft Touch: Soft-touch coated according to specified RAL color (transparent)


    • Fine-Texture: Matte color paint with fine texture


    • Spatter: Matte color paint with coarse texture
