Dimensional accuracy strongly depends on the selected material and technology. It doesn’t relate to the detail of your model but to the deviation from the nominal size.
Please take note that accuracy and level of detail are not the same. The level of detail can be described as the difference in height between two surfaces (e.g. extruded text on a surface).
Accuracy values are listed below and clearly indicated on each material page.
Technology | Material | Accuracy |
Fused Deposition Modeling | ABS-M30, ABS-ESD7, PC-ABS, Polycarbonate, Ultem 9085 | ± 0.15% (with lower limit on ± 0.2 mm) |
Laser Sintering | PA 12, PA-AF, PA-GF, Bluesint PA12 | ± 0.3% (with lower limit on ± 0.3 mm) |
Polypropylene (PP) |
XY: 0.35% (lower limit of 0.35mm) Z: 1.2% (lower limit of 0.5mm) |
|
Multi Jet Fusion | PA 12 | ± 0.3% (with lower limit on ± 0.3 mm) |
Ultrasint TPU 90A-01 | ±0.9%(XY) up to ±1.8% (Z) with lower limits on ±1 mm (XY) up to ±1.5mm (Z)* | |
Stereolithography | Poly1500, ProtoGen White, TuskXC2700T, TuskXC2700T, Xtreme, Tusk Somos SolidGrey 3000 | ± 0.2% (with lower limit on ± 0.2 mm) |
PolyJet | VeroWhitePlus, Agilus, Agilus Black, DM_ShoreA40, DM_ShoreA50, DM_ShoreA60, DM_ShoreA70, DM_ShoreA85, DM_ShoreA95 | 0.1 – 0.3 mm (varies depending on geometry, part orientation and print size) |
* Please note that our CAD team will position the parts so that the lowest dimension is positioned in the Z-axis for the best possible result. By selecting the ‘keep orientation’ option, you acknowledge that the general rule described above will not be followed as the the orientation will not be modified by our CAD team.
