The United States has recently introduced additional tariffs of 50% on certain imported metals, which are applied on top of the standard import duties already in effect. These elevated charges significantly impact the overall cost of importing metal products. It’s important to note that these tariffs reflect duty rates only and do not include other applicable import taxes or fees.
For the latest updates on tariffs, we recommend consulting your local customs broker or visiting the official U.S. Customs Tariffs portal at https://hts.usitc.gov.
Impact on Goods from India
Unfortunately, the total cost of import duties is particularly high for our products, as they are manufactured and finished in India. Under current U.S. trade policies, goods originating from India are subject to these elevated tariffs, resulting in higher import costs for our customers.
To release your shipment, payment of these duties must be made directly to the courier company. The courier will then remit the payment to U.S. Customs on your behalf. Please be aware that this payment is a mandatory government fee and is not imposed by us.
Import Duties and HS Codes
Import duties are government-imposed taxes on goods brought into the country, while Harmonized System (HS) codes serve as an internationally standardized classification system for identifying products during customs processing. Customs authorities use HS codes to determine the applicable duties, taxes, and fees for imported goods.
HS codes typically consist of six digits but may be extended by individual countries for more specific classifications. You can identify the appropriate HS code for your product using online resources such as Access2Markets or by consulting customs representatives.

Below, we provide suggested HS codes for your guidance. However, please note that these codes are for informational purposes only, and it is the customer’s responsibility to ensure the correct HS code is used during import clearance. We recommend instructing your customs broker accordingly.By understanding and managing HS codes correctly, you can ensure smoother customs processing and avoid unnecessary delays or penalties.
