ue to a changing business focus there will no longer be a shop feature on the Materialise OnSite platform. Without the i.materialise shop you will need to explore alternative pathways to sell your 3D printed design, in the following we have compiled a few tips:
Plan ahead and stock up
While the i.materialise shop remains active, you can plan ahead by stocking up on your favorite pieces until the launch of the new platform. Just remember to set your royalties to 0 before placing the order, then change them back afterward to avoid being charged. You can also recover your production files before the current platform closes. Simply send your request to contact@i.materialise.com.
Start selling via Etsy and Shopify
Both are well-established e-commerce platforms, which have handy tutorials to help you get set up. Neither provider can be connected directly to the Materialise Manufacturing platform, so you will need to place orders manually but you can opt to set the delivery directly to the customer’s address. Your customer orders with you, you order with us — simple. After the launch of Materialise Manufacturing, we will work on adding a new feature that allows you to repeat orders based on ID to make this process even easier.
Need a little inspiration for your own shop?
We understand that a big change like this can be intimidating, but it doesn’t need to be! Look no further than i.materialise user Anna Reihker’s store. Her customers order through her store before she places the orders herself on i.materialise — a process that will still be possible with the new platform. With many different variations of her jewelry available and no time for complex set-ups, a flexible manual process suits her perfectly — and we think the same can be true for you!
